club history

Manchester United Football Club, founded in 1878 as Newton Heath LYR, became Manchester United in 1902. Based at Old Trafford since 1910, it has grown into one of the most successful and iconic football clubs in history. Under Sir Matt Busby, the team achieved early success but faced tragedy in the 1958 Munich Air Disaster, which claimed the lives of several key players. Busby rebuilt the team, leading them to a historic European Cup victory in 1968.

The club’s golden era came under Sir Alex Ferguson, who managed the team from 1986 to 2013, securing numerous trophies, including 13 Premier League titles and two UEFA Champions League wins. Known for its attacking style, youth development, and passionate global fan base, Manchester United remains a symbol of excellence and resilience in football.
